WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY ...
|

It's all about Edward.
I came in, like many others, on a web deal, and the experience exceeded my expectations. First off, I had to switch times and because I was rushed to do so, and not familiar with their weird online scheduling system, I forgot to mention I'd prefer a female (just a preference I've followed for years).
When I was introduced to Edward, anything I'd usually feel uncomfortable with, completely went out the window. He's a young man with an old soul; if you're spiritual, you will understand what I mean the second you meet him. He is an example of someone who is working with his hands (and spirit) on this earth for a higher purpose, in this case, to help people.
Upon telling him of some physical issues I was dealing with, he asked permission to do a different type of hour's work than the deep tissue massage I'd purchased. I trusted him enough to say "yes" and wow, wow, wow.
I can't say exactly what he did(!) but it was a mixture of massage, energy work and bodywork all-in-one. It was wonderfully relaxing and at times intense, but when you trust someone, I feel the experience is much more worthwhile. Massage is very intimate and can be awkward, so feeling comfortable is so important.
I did end up purchasing three future sessions at 50% off which is a) something I never do and b) a fabulous deal that many other places do not offer.
Thank you, Edward...!

1 Check-in Here
Like most others I purchased a deal (through Facebook) for the 60 Minute Deep Tissue Massage with Skin Rejuvenation. I booked my appointment online, which was very convenient as I tend to only think about planning out my week at 4am. The online booking doesn't allow you to select a particular masseuse, only choose between availabilities. I selected randomly and ended up with Gregory. My boyfriend is NOT a big fan of me getting massages from men, but I decided to just go for it since it's my body/my decision.
When I arrived the receptionist greeted me warmly and offered me some water. After filling out a short form and giving them my facebook deal voucher Gregory showed up and escorted me to the massage room. He took me over and showed me the lotions and oils he was going to use, asked if I had any particular areas I'd like him to focus on, then explained how to lay on the massage table and left me to get to it. I never know how they know when to come back in, but just as I lay down on the table, adjusted the sheets and took a few deep breaths to start relaxing there was a soft knock and Gregory reentered.
The massage was great. I've had a couple of professional massages but something about Gregory's style was something unique. I have definitely never been rocked back and forth quite so much and while it took me a minute to relax and get used to it, it actually loosened me up quite a bit. He discovered some tension in my hips/butt and focused pretty heavily on it which felt great and while he definitely approached the line between appropriate and inappropriate, he never crossed it. My main area of complaint was my trapezius and along the scapula (shoulders and shoulderblades, basically) and he went way further than any masseuse has before to try and get some serious work done in the area for me.
I really wish some massage spas offered chair massages also. I know that's not very high class and usually conjures up images of 10 minute mall massages, but the upper back and trapezius is my main problem area and it's very difficult to properly attack in a horizontal position. I would pay inordinate amounts of money to have something truly pound out my trapezius in a more upright position.
After reading some of the reviews here I definitely prepared for the post massage sales pitch, but I was surprised when it was very minimal. The receptionist let me know that they had special deals if you purchased on your first visit, but after I let him know that I couldn't afford it because it was the last paycheck before rent was due he nodded and didn't say another word about it other than to say that I could contact Gregory at a future date and he may be able to work something out for me.
Overall a very pleasant experience and if I have some extra padding in my paycheck I'll definitely return.

Purchased a Yelp Deal
I got the yelp deal here and thought I'd give it a try. I haven't found a proper place to get a massage since moving to the SF, and have been buying up deals left and right to try to find something that worked. Lo and behold, I may have found it (I have a few more deals to go through before I commit, but you know, it's going to be hard to beat).
First off, the building is pretty cool, it has a nice vibe on it and you just get a good feeling. I walked in and noticed that every person who worked there was male. I know this is going to sound really sexist or whatever, but I've found that some of my better massages have been from men because they tend to give me a deeper massage (I'm not trying to sound dirty, geez). I have a lot of back issues, so I'm a big fan of the deep tissue, push really hard and get at it, massages. I'm tiny, so I have a lot of people who are just afraid to "break" me so they're wishy washy gentle with me. I was pleased to see the staff, thinking that whoever I ended up would suit my aching back fine. I ended up with John. He was really nice and we talked about why my back hurts and what I wanted him to focus on. When I todl him that I liked a deep tissue and that I liked harder pressure, he didn't balk at me at all. It was a fantastic massage and I felt a gazillion times better afterward. It's been a week since my massage and I'm still feeling pretty good...and I'm currently sitting here writing from my mom's hospital room sitting on a crappy hospital chair (which I slept on last night with my head on a table) and I still feel pretty good from the massage. Usually I'd be completely messed up, but I think the massage last week helped. So thank you John!

Purchased a Yelp Deal
I bought the yelp deal for a massage here and was pleased by their customer service from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. The massage was heavenly as usual, so I booked a few more. Although they might not be my choice for the rest of my life because they are a little out of the way, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it to people.

I am very surprised by some of the lower-end ratings for Juin Organique - since I think they are extraordinary! I have been in several times for different treatments, and in my experience this really is as good as it gets.
I have always found their front desk staff warm, inviting and helpful. As for their estheticians, Maria and Katia have given me some of my best facials - my skin is worlds better as a result, no lie. I always leave revived and looking better - looking forward to my next appointment. Further, I think they offer great deals. Whether it be through Groupon or through their own marketing efforts, they run special offers from time-to-time that make it easy for me to come in every other month and truly enjoy myself. The quirky building and convenient location are nice extras for me (and really worth checking out because it's so unusual!) - but I really go for the service.
The only thing that is missing and that is offered by some other, larger spas (like Burke Williams) is a lounge area/sauna/jacuzzi or pool area - but I'd rather forgo all those niceties where the treatments and estheticians are cookie-cutter and perfunctory in favor of a local business that really cares about me and gives me phenomenal service. This is my spa of choice in SF for facial treatments and recommend it *highly* to everyone!

I bought a Living Social massage from Juin Organique and was so lucky to have been given John as my therapist. I have had many, many massages over the years, because it's one of my favorite things to do. But I have never actually scheduled monthly massages with anyone, until now! John is that good. He is strong and confident and knows exactly what he is doing. He is an absolute technician.
Thank you John and see you next month! Can't wait!

I purchased a Living Social voucher for a massage at Juin Organique a couple months ago and finally used it today. The location is awesome, in a beautiful mansion. I found street parking right away (may have just gotten lucky on that one). The receptionist, Josh, was very friendly from the start. My massage therapist, John, was great. He made sure to ask what kind of pressure I liked/disliked and my massage was perfect. The room the massage was in was so nice. It was spacious, warm, inviting, and there was a good choice of relaxing music throughout my service. It was also really nice to not hear outside noises, because at other massage places, I have been distracted by being able to hear people outside of my massage room. I normally only get massages when I have purchased a deal through Groupon/Living Social, etc., (because I can't afford to get regularly priced massages) but I might have to make an exception for this place, for I truly loved it! Thanks Juin Organique, Josh and John especially. :)

This place is amazing. Gregory Wilson's massages are amazing. It felt like much longer than an hour. I immediately bought a package of 3 more when I was done, which offered a 20% discount on each. Sweet. I walked out thinking "This is the best massage I have ever had", and it was. I felt clear headed and relaxed for days.
Housed in a beautiful building too!

Upgraded to the 90-min massage with my coupon. The place is clean and relaxing. Everyone was very friendly. The massage itself (John) was great! It's probably one of the best massages I've had all year. I cannot wait to go back and pamper myself some more.

This business must have learned and adapted from their feedback here on Yelp. I had Gayle Cash do my massage tonight and it started out medium with loosening up the muscles and soon became deep tissue to get out all those knots. I like my massage on the deeper pressure and that's what I got. Gayle never tried to sell me anything, just mentioned about how excited she personally was about some of the treatments they offered. Since it was our first time and without our Facebook discount, I thought it would be pricey. I would go again if I found another discount offer on the hot stone massage.
My long Memorial Day weekend started off with relaxed muscles and tomorrow, seeing my Chiropractor for a maintenance adjustment to set me ready for a great long weekend.
I'd say this is a great place to go if you get a deal. I would recommend Gayle... just let her know how you like your massages.

Gregory is the best massage therapist I've EVER had. Can't recommend his work enough. Every time I'm stressed and need to relax, Gregory soothes my muscles so that I walk out feeling like a new woman! The mixed massage modality that they use at Juin Organique is unparalleled!

I found this place because of a "Living Social" deal and I'm glad I did: I had an excellent 1-hour hot stone massage.
Inside a late 19th century historic mansion, Juin Organique would not be easy to find unless it were for Yelp or a deal from another site. The offices inside can only be described as "eclectic" with a law firm a few doors down from the therapy rooms and a gym (is it part of Juin Organique, I don't know) right off the elevator. The mansion itself is impressive and was once owned by a single owner.
I went with a girlfriend and the only way we could both have the hot stone massage at the same time (because like many spas, they only have one room dedicated to that therapy) was to book the "couples massage" room.
I asked for "deep tissue" with "firm" pressure and it was all that, almost a little too much a few times. Not wanting to utter a word and interrupt my friend's experience, I flinched a few times and Gregory got the signal and backed off a bit. He was intuitive and got every knot out of my body.
I was impressed and wanted to return again so I bought a 5-series package, a solid deal.
I think you'll be impressed with the therapy you'll receive. It's definitely worth a visit, maybe more.

What a great way to end the stressful week. I had Gayle and she was amazing! Her hands are meant to heal the body's stresses and she definitely made me feel at ease and relaxed.
But I do have to say that it was a bit of a scavenger hunt to find Juin Organique which is hidden in this beautiful mansion on the corner of Octavia and Bush. I had to call them to figure out where they were located. The building reminded me of the castle in the Shining. I was sort of freakishly waiting for Jack Nicholson to appear in the main floor hallway (I got lost searching for the room...go figure) I soon realized that they were on the 3rd floor.
That said, once I reached Juin Organique, I was greeted by a staff member and was met with a warm and friendly smile the by rest of the team. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for taking care of my body! It appreciates you for it!

So so great! John was wonderful! Patient, precise, super sweet and exactly what I needed. He listened well, and I walked out feeling rejuvenated. The price was reasonable for the 60 minute full body massage. The receptionist was smart and efficient, and they also have a great selection of house made organic body products. Got a great face cream! Cute location and friendly staff.

I had an amazing 60 minute deep tissue massage with Glenda. She may be tiny, but she is certainly strong. I winced more than a few times at her elbows digging into my knots, but that was exactly what I wanted. Also, it's in a cool Pac Heights mansion with an original elevator and a there's a really sweet receptionist guy.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing couples hot stone massage here last night. The couples suite was a very romantic room, although we were not provided robes or shown where the shower was located (which was described on the website). My masseuse, Edward, was very friendly, informative and enthusiastic about my hour of relaxation. I opted for a medium-pressure massage with emphasis on the back and Edward certainly listened to what I wanted. While the massage was full-body, Edward really worked my back, neck and shoulders. The hot stones were an incredible addition to the massage (both my boyfriend and my first time with hot stones).
My boyfriend was also very satisfied with his massage. While he said the pressure was harder than he anticipated (he admitted he would have squealed like a girl if I was not in the room!), he ultimately felt very relaxed and refreshed. Both of our masseuses were waiting for us in the lobby afterwards and talked about the areas they focused on and what we can do to improve those areas. They were very informative and personable. We will definitely be coming back!

Like Dan's review, I first heard about Joseph Rice and Juin Organique via a LivingSocial deal. He had good reviews, so I went for it and couldn't be happier. Joseph was great with me. Also extremely talented in the deep tissue department.
I walked in after closing a bar down the night before. Tired, tight and cranky. An hour later, I was feeling great. The only thing that could have been better was a three or four hour nap on the table after my session. I highly recommend Joseph Rice and Juin Organique.

I have never gone back to a masseuse, until I met Gregory. He gave me a deep tissue massage and I went back to him for a hot stone massage today. I have never been so relaxed. Gregory focused on all of my problem areas. He has a soothing manner and an unsurpassed technique for both relaxing and working out tension.
The whole Juin Organique experience was fabulous!
